Cancelled shows are proof, once and for all, that a television network doesn't care what you think.

Unless you have a Nielsen box and are, in fact, roughly ten million people.

In the television world, cancellation can take various forms. Perfected by Fox's Anguish Department, the different methods are intended to taunt and mock the audience by giving false hope their show might be saved. This sadly never happens (unless it does).

Common techniques include placing a show on hiatus, rescheduling, retooling, repurposing and simply not renewing the program. Nearly all are accompanied by the Showkiller Paula Marshall or the Bringer of Darkness Ted McGinley.

A common network practice is to yank the show from the schedule and then sink the body in the Hudson River of summer reruns.
